Description 描述:
Qinghai Province 青海省
Qinghai Province is located in western China and contains the eastern section of the Tibetan Plateau. It is the second largest province in China after the Xinjiang Autonomous Region. Qinghai is also home to Qinghai Lake, the largest salt water lake in China, and the second largest globally. China’s largest rivers, the Yellow River and the Yangtze River both have their sources in Qinghai Province. Qinghai is also home to a broad diversity of birds including endemic birds such as Sillem's Mountain Finch, Tibetan Bunting, Tibetan Rosefinch, Tibetan Babax and the White-eared Pheasant. The Russian explorer, Nikolay Przevalski, travelled widely throughout Qinghai in the mid-19th Century and had a number of Chinese endemic birds named after him, including Przevalski’s Partridge, Przevalski’s Finch and Przevalski’s Redstart. The images taken from this gallery were from four trips to the region: July 2019, June 2021, September 2021 and July 2022.
