Guangdong is a coastal province in southern China, and with a 2020 census recording a population of 126 million, this province is not only the most populous in China, but also hosts the largest economy of all of China’s provinces. Guangdong faces the South China Sea, with a total of 4,300km of coastline, and with a subtropical to tropical climate. The province has recorded over 500 species of birds with specialities including Chinese Francolin, Greater Painted-Snipe and the endemic Grey-sided Scimitar Babbler.
